The 2/0 DLO Diesel Locomotive Cable is a versatile cable that can be used in a variety of different circumstances and environments. This cable is manufactured as specified in ICEA 5-75-381: Portable and Power Feeder Cables for Use in Mines and Similar Locations. It also meets a number of other guidelines, including FT-4 and VW-1 flame tests. It is MSHA accepted as per P-7K-123040 and is RoHS compliant.

This cable is listed as a Type RHH-RHW-2 as outlined in UL 44 and is a Type RW90 1kV as outlined in C22.2 No 3985. It’s also low smoke rated (LS-UL).

All DLO cable is manufactured to be resistant to heat, open flames, alkalies, oils, acids, and moisture. It’s also very durable and resistant to abrasions. The conductors are covered with an insulation that has a nominal insulation thickness of 0.080 inches. It has a stranding (Al/Stl) of 329/24 and a diameter complete cable (O.D.) of 0.73 inches.

The maximum continuous conductor temperature for a 2/0 DLO cable in both wet and dry environments is 90 degrees C. At this temperature, it has an allowable ampacity of 298 amps.

Applications:

2/0 DLO Cable has a number of different applications. It is often used to supply power to the traction motors in diesel-electric locomotives, but it may also be used in both on-shore and off-shore drilling as a portable cable. This cable may also be found in transit car and railroad wiring. It can be used in a number of shipyard applications due to its moisture-resistant properties, plus it may be found in electric earth-moving equipment, arc welder supply leads, and in power and control jumper cables. Finally, it can be used in Telcom power supplies and motor leads.

The cable can be used in dry or wet environments, ducts, conduits, troughs, and trays.

DLO is especially suitable to supply power to traction motors of diesel-electric locomotives. It is also recommended as a portable cable for drilling rigs, on-shore or off-shore, railroad and transit car wiring, electric earth-moving equipment, in shipyard applications, arc welder supply leads, power and control jumper cable, Telcom power supply and motor leads. The cable is suitable for use in wet or dry areas, conduit, ducts, troughs or trays, and where superior electrical properties are desired. The maximum continuous conductor temperature for normal operation in wet or dry locations is 90°C. DLO resists oils, acids, alkalies, heat, flame, and has abrasion resistance.
