Regular price $3.00 $2.00 Sale /per Foot

A 4 gauge DLO diesel locomotive cable 2kV is often used in the engines of diesel locomotives, but it can also be used in a number of other applications as well. This is because it was designed to have superior electrical properties and be a standard power supply cable for a multitude of uses.

This cable was manufactured in accordance to ICEA S-75-381 – Portable and Power Feeder Cables for Use in Mines and Similar Locations. It’s UL listed as a Type RHH-RHW-2 cable per UL 44 and is CSA listed as a Type RW90 1kV cable as outlined in C22.2 No 3895. The cable is low smoke rated and meets both the VW-1 and the FT-4 flame tests. It is RoHS complaint and MSHA accepted.

Specifications:
• This cable has an AWG of 4 and is covered in a nominal insulation thickness that is 0.060 inches. It has a stranding (Al/Stl) of 105/24 and a diameter complete cable (O.D.) of 0.46 inches. One thousand feet of 4 gauge DLO diesel locomotive cable weighs 220 pounds.
• This cable has a maximum continuous conductor temperature of 90 degrees Celsius when used in normal operations in both wet and dry locations. At 90 degrees C, it has an allowable ampacity of 145 amps.
• The cable is designed to be resistant to alkalies, acids, oils, heat, flames, abrasions, and cuts.

Applications:
The 4 gauge DLO cable can be used in a variety of applications due to the fact that it resists heat, moisture, and abrasions. It is primarily used as a power supply cable in the traction motors of locomotives, but it may also serve as an arc welder supply lead, a power and control jumper cable, and a portable cable in any type of drilling rig (both on- and off-shore).

The cable can also be found in Telcom power supplies, shipyard applications, and the wiring of electric earth-moving machines.

DLO is especially suitable to supply power to traction motors of diesel-electric locomotives. It is also recommended as a portable cable for drilling rigs, on-shore or off-shore, railroad and transit car wiring, electric earth-moving equipment, in shipyard applications, arc welder supply leads, power and control jumper cable, Telcom power supply and motor leads. The cable is suitable for use in wet or dry areas, conduit, ducts, troughs or trays, and where superior electrical properties are desired. The maximum continuous conductor temperature for normal operation in wet or dry locations is 90°C. DLO resists oils, acids, alkalies, heat, flame, and has abrasion resistance. Specifications: • Made in accordance with ICEA S-75-381 - Portable and Power Feeder Cables for Use in Mines and Similar Locations • MSHA accepted (P-7K-123040) • RoHS Compliant • UL listed as Type RHH-RHW-2 per UL 44 • CSA listed as Type RW90 1kV per C22.2 No 3895 • Low Smoke Rated (LS-UL) • Meets FT-4 and VW-1 Flame Tests
