General Cable Genspeed® 6 Category 6 Residential CMX Outdoor-CMR Cable Standards-Compliant

Product Details

The CMX and CMR cable is made of bare solid annealed copper conductors with polyolefin insulation. A separating divider is applied round the insulated conductors and a ripcord is closely instilled on its core, and then covered with an outer jacketing layer made of tough Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC).

Standard Compliances

1.ANSI/TIA 568-C.2
2.NEC/CEC Type CMX and CMR
3.UL 444 Sunlight resistant
4.ICEA S-100-685
5.ICEA S-102-700

Features and Benefits
This type of GenSpeed Cat 6 cable has a CMX rating that enable the cable to withstand different temperature variations in short distances for the networking interface device, which is stationed outside the house as well as the indoor devices.

It has a ripcord longitudinally lying under the PVC jacketing layer. Termination of cables without ripcords would get tiresome and floppy as you will have to accompany yourself with ripping tools, some may get tempted and try using their teeth to peel the cables. This could be dangerous since you may lose your teeth during the struggle. Thanks to ripcords because they will make your work easy since you’ll only be marking the portions you need to rip off and after that you can steadily pull them along.

Insulation and jacketing of electrical cables is very important, because they are responsible for protection of the cable from damages that it may get subjected to during installation or when in use. GenSpeed Cat 6 cable features polyolefin insulation and tough PVC jacketing compound, they offer great protection against chemical and mechanical damages.

Applications
GenSpeed Cat 6 cable is applied for use in ATMs, Token Ring, CDDI, Digital and Analog baseband video.

You will agree with me that all of the Category 6 Cables discussed above are made of similar copper conductors and intended to serve the same purpose. They feature polyolefin insulation, PVC jacketing and some are even armored with a metallic strip. I hope you found this post insightful, feel free to contact us for information.
