Flat Submersible Pump Cable 5,000V Tested-Good for 2.4KV per NEC 90 Degree C Dry/75 Degree C Wet

Flat Submersible Well Pump Wire XLPE Insulation 5000 Volts Rated Cable

Description:

This cable is a multiconductor cable that employs 7-strand Class B soft drawn bare copper as its main conductive members.  The cable is rated for up to 2,400kV per the National Electric Code.  The copper conductors align with ASTM standard B3 and B8; specifications set forth by the American Society for Testing and Materials for annealed copper wire and concentric lay stranded cables.  The conductors bear a conductor shield which is a 5 mil thick, semi-conducting tape.  Crosslinked polyethylene (XLPE) insulates each conductor.  Crosslinked polyethylene is a thermoset plastic material that is resistant to abrasion, heat, moisture, water, and oil.  The cable includes one insulated Class B soft drawn bare copper ground conductor which serves to ensure steady conductivity through the phase conductors.  The conductors are assembly in a parallel side-by-side orientation to maximize resistance to crushing and impact by heavy objects.  A black polyvinyl chloride (PVC) jacket makes up the exterior of the cable.  The PVC jacket protects the interior of the cables from abrasion, moisture, oil, petrochemicals, and heat.

Applications:

The cable’s flat construction allows this cable to be used in several types of heavy-duty applications.   The Flat Submersible Pump Cable 2 & 3 Conductor w/ Ground is typically used in fresh and salt water pump applications where there is a high risk of the cable being crushed or impacted.  The cable is approved to carry ampacities of up to and including 2,400kV volts.  The cable is used in pools, fountains, and sprinkler systems.  It is also used in well casings or deep well wiring systems.  It can be used for indoor or outdoor applications and holds a maximum temperature rating of 90°C in wet and dry locations.

Specifications:

  • In accordance with specifications set forth by the American Society for Testing and Materials, the conductive components of this cable align with ASTM standards B3 for annealed copper and B8 for stranded copper wires.
  • This cable is rated for up to 2.4kV per National Electric Code.
  • The cable also meets Underwriters Laboratories standard UL83, a specification for thermoset, high heat-resistant, nylon insulated cables.
  • The cable is compliant with regulations set forth by the Mining Safety and Health Administration.
