Temperflex high temperature cable is made using nickel plated copper to improve its conductivity and performance. The 2 percent nickel plating on the wire makes it perform better in extreme temperatures where other coated copper wires may fail. It also reduces oxidation and prolongs the shelf life of the cable. The cable is rated for applications of up to 250 degrees Celsius and operations needing up to 600 volts. Nickel plated wires can resist continuous exposure to high temperatures. They can resist thermal shocks and can be used for temporary applications in extremely high temperatures. The cable can retain its flexibility for extended periods even after being exposed to continuous high temperatures.

Applications
• For use in high temperature environments where resistance to abrasion and cut through are desired
• It’s used in areas exposed to high temperature conditions then to cooling and moisture.
• It may be used in steam lines, near boilers, in steel manufacturing plants, in glass plants, and in chemical processing plants.

Insulation
• Fused PTFE fluoropolymer tape
• The cable is insulated using a fused PTFE fluoropolymer tape that has a glass serve as well as fiberglass braid cover applied over each insulated conductor. PTFE tape is an excellent insulator that offer a wide temperature range. It has low smoke generation and low dissipation. PTFE tape is also flame resistance, solvent resistant, chemical resistant, and moisture resistant. It is heated sintered to allow for improved abrasion resistance, performance, and uniformity. Where uncentered PTFE tape is used, it is mainly to reduce loss, especially in high speed data cables. A downside of PTFE tape is that it tends to have a poor cold flow resistance. On top of that, the insulation has an overall binder tape made of PTFE fluoropolymer.

Outer jacketing
• Braided aramid K-fiber
• A braided aramid K-fiber that has a high temperature finish is used to cover the insulation. This offers more protection against heat and flame.

Characteristics
• Moisture, oil, fluid and abrasion resistant.
• Fillers, where needed, are made with flame impervious fibers with moisture repellent finish.
• Cable utilizes Radix “Torque Free” design. This eliminates memory found in traditional right hand or left hand twisted cables.
• Binder tape provides additional moisture resistance.
• Aramid fiber jacket provides superior cut through and abrasion resistance.
• Not recommended for outdoor use.
