VNTC Unshielded 10 AWG THWN or THHN

VNTC Unshielded 10 AWG THWN or THHN

What does thhn stand for?
The name thhn is an acronym that stands for thermoplastic, high heat and nylon coated material. The ‘W’ in thwn wire simply means that it’s water resistant and can be easily used for outdoor applications.

They are flexible electrical cables this is thanks to its uncoated stranded copper conductors. These conductors can easily maneuver through high flex zones. Nonetheless a copper ground wire is installed in the cable for safety reasons. All the five conductors when put together can transmit large amounts of current of up to 600 volts.

Thhn thwn wires can also operate in a wide range of temperatures which is from 75°C up to 90°C in both wet and dry weather conditions respectively. The surface of the electrical wire is printed with markings that help to identify the cable. The markings also minimize guess work and wastage during installation.

Features:
• Oil and sunlight resistant
• Approved by various international standards
• Has grounding conductors
• Flame retardant jacket
• Color coded conductors
• Water and moisture resistant
• Approved for outdoor use
• Available in various sizes

Jacket:
The jacket is made of PVC. The jacket is sturdy which enhances the toughness of the cable. Furthermore the jacket is resistant to high levels of heat and corrosion this is courtesy of the PVC material. It is also resistant to oil, moisture, impact, abrasion, sunlight and chemicals. The jacket is printed with certain numbers that shows the measurements and size of the cable.

Applications of 10 AWG THWN or THHN wire:
• Suitable for installation in cable trays and troughs
• Can be installed in air, ducts or conduits
• Remote control and signaling circuits
• Hazardous locations
• Applications of type THWN or THHN as specified by NEC article 725

Compliances:
• UL Listed
• IEEE Flame test
• ICEA hour test
• Cables with grounding conductor
• Direct burial
