Specifications:

The 350-3 cable features three stranded conductors with a size of 350 AWG. It has a stranding (Al/Stl) of 37. This cable also features 3 symmetrical bare copper ground wires that are 2 AWG in size. The cable core is covered with a special 5-mil helical copper tape shield. This is in addition to the cross-linked polyethylene insulation. This insulation has a nominal thickness of 65 mm and is moisture and heat resistant. A black PVC jacket provides an outer layer of protection and is resistant to flame, sunlight, and abrasions. While black is standard, other colors can be substituted for easy identification.

The overall cable diameter for this cable is 1.983 inches. This cable has an allowable ampacity of 350 amps at 30 degrees C and weighs 4,898 pounds in lengths of 1,000 feet. It is rated for 600 volts.

Applications:

ASD-VFD cables such as the 350-3 cable are used in a number of different applications involving motors. They connect Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) to AC motors. A VFD is an adjustable-speed drive that’s used in a number of different electro-mechanical drive systems to control the speed of the AC motor and the torque. It varies the voltage and the motor input frequency. Doing so helps conserve power and improve performance. These cables can be used with motors that control water pumps, fan motors, conveyor motors, and more.

These cables can be used in a number of places designated as NEC Hazardous Locations, including those designed as Class I, Division 2, Class II, Division 2, and Class III, Divisions I and II. It may be used in wet or dry areas where the operating temperature does not exceed 90 degrees C.
