XHHW-2 is an abbreviated form in which X stands for Cross liked High Heat resistant and Water resistant. The -2 refers to temperature operating rate which is 90 degrees Celsius. XHHW-2 cables are an upgrade of the traditional XHHW cables because they have a wider temperature range of up to 90 degrees Celsius, as compared to 75 degrees that XHHW is limited to perform in. Meaning that in case XHHW is subjected to high temperatures exceeding 75 degrees, its insulation will start tearing and eventually causing damage to the entire cable leading to power faults. But thanks to the new XHHW-2 invention, which is not scared of operating at high temperatures of up to 90 degrees Celsius thus a cable worth going for.

Plex HHW-2 Twisted Copper cable, as its name infers, is made of a multiple soft copper conductors that are insulated with a chemically cross linked polyethylene type HHW-2. This type of insulation depicts that the plex HHW-2 cable can serve in high heat and moisture environment, since XHHW-2 insulation keeps the cable away from damages caused by such conditions. Insulated conductors are then twisted together to form a circular phase identification as a single cable. It is readily available in different colors.

Why go for this cable?
It has a superior adaptive XHHW-2 insulation that offers self-defense to the cable from physical attacks. This type of service wire is used in outdoor applications, where it may be subjected to extreme environmental conditions such as high temperatures and cold temperatures. At high temperatures this cable is not damaged up to 90 degrees Celsius, simply because of the protection offered by its special insulation ensuring that it is not worn out. At times the temperature may get too low to -40 degrees but don’t worry about your plex XHHW-2 twisted cable, as its insulation is strong enough to withstand cold bends.

You need cables that give you easy time to install in your wiring systems and as far as flexibility is concerned, plex XHHW-2 service wire is a cable to go by. This is because it is made of soft drawn copper conductors which are more flexible than the standard copper conductors. Flexible conductors are easy to carry along and handle during installation because you will use less effort to fold and bend them. Who doesn’t need a flexible cable? I bet you won’t think twice of going for it.

Applications
Cables are designed and manufactured differently simple because they are meant to serve at different levels of power distribution, from the generating power source to primary distribution chain, secondary and where we have at the switch. As for this type of Service Wire, it is meant to serve as a general purpose wiring. It is installed in power distribution as well as branch circuiting and also desirable for areas requiring cables with superior flame retardance. This service wire is a dual serving cable as it can be installed in both wet and dry areas and in low leakage circuits.
