Applications:
MIL-DTL-24643 Slant Sheets 21 and 24 utilize insulated conductors manufatured with a combination of silicone and glass braids which provide circuit integrity in case of a catastrophic fire. They are used for thermocouple or pyrometer applications. These constructions are watertight. The overall jacket is an irradiation cross-linked low smoke polyolefin for Slant Sheet 21 and a low smoke, red silicone rubber for Slant Sheet 24. The silicone rubber jacketed cables are armored with an aluminim braid to provide mechanical protection.
