Prysmian and Draka Cable BFOU(C) 150/250 (300) V S4/S8 Arctic Grade Fire Resistant Instrumentation Cable

Product Details

Prysmian & Draka Arctic Cable comes in pairs, triples or quad twisted conductors made of stranded and tinned copper with Ethylene Propylene Rubber (EPR) insulation. The EPR is wrapped with a mica tape. They are covered with the flame retardant thermoplastic layer that is encased with a PET tape and armored or screened to form the cable assembly. This cable is sheathed with two layers in accordance to IEC 60092-360 requirements, with printed texts of meter size and year.

Standards and Approvals

1.IEC 60092-353 for cable design
2.IEC 60228 Class II Conductors
3.IEC 60092-360 Insulation
4.IEC 60332-1-2 Flame retardance
5.IEC 60331-1, -2, -21 – Fire Resistivity
6.IEC 60754-1, 2 – Halogen Free
7.CSA 22.2 0.3-0.1 Cold Impact

This cable is tested and approved to meet all the above listed International Laboratory specifications and termed as a quality instrumentation cable.

Features

1.Conductor
Tinning of the copper conductors makes them corrosive resistance, thus adding to protective features of the cable. These conductors are lightweight and flexible making the cable easy to install. Lightweight and flexible cables like this Prysmian&Draka Arctic cable require less effort to lift and fold taking less termination time as compared to heavy and rigid cables.

2.Insulation and Jacketing
This cable is insulated with a flame resistant Ethylene Propylene Rubber which is protective from chemical and mechanical damages. EPR is wrapped with a mica tape which is known to have high thermal and can withstand high temperature conditions.

3.Armor
The cable is armored with a polyamide rubber and sheathed with a thermoset compound to improve the cable life. Braided annealed and tinned copper wire armor ensures that the cable is not directly hit, whereas the sheathing layers are flame retardants keeping the cable from flames and fires.

Applications
It is used in power distributions for marine wiring systems of voltages not exceeding 300V. The cable is installed in both wet and dry locations at temperatures not exceeding 90 degrees.
