Product Details

A soft annealed tinned copper cable designed for demanding marine environments. This instrumentation cable has shielded strands and is highly flexible for easy installation and workability. Its tin coating improves the thermal performance while at the same time reducing the ability of the cable to corrode. Additionally, tin coating on the wire ensures easy solderability. The armored marine instrumentation cable works in temperatures of up to 110 degrees Celsius and voltage of between 600 volts and 1000 volts. The cable consists of twisted triads with each of them having a bare tinned drain wire. Every triad has been shielded using a tape of polyester-backed aluminum foil to ensure 100% coverage.

Applications
• For use in demanding environments of offshore drilling and petroleum facilities
• The cables are made for use in communication and signal applications where twisted conductors are needed. Typical applications include fire and gas detection or protection systems, tank level indications, CO2 systems, as well as smoke detection equipment.

Insulation
• Cross-linked Polyolefin
• A flame retardant cross-linked polyolefin is used as the primary insulation on the cable. Cross-linkedpolyolefin (XLPO) offers excellent fire resistance. It is chemical resistant and durable. XLPO has a working temperature of between -40 to 105 degrees Celsius and provides an excellent UV resistance. The halogen free insulator releases no toxic after it has been exposed to fire or flame.

Jacket and armor
• Jacket - Black, arctic grade PVC
• Arctic grade PVC material is used to make the jacket of the cable. This jacket material is not only resistant to oil and abrasion but also flame, chemical and sunlight. A bronze basket weave wire armor is used to provide protection against mechanical and environmental damage.

Characteristics
• High strand count conductors make this product extremely flexible, easier to install and more resistant to vibration than Type MC, IEC spec or commercial cables.
• Lower dielectric constant and higher insulation resistance reduces electrical losses.
• Excellent resistance to moisture produces stable electrical properties throughout the life of the cable.
• In fire conditions, non-chlorinated flame retardant system produces less toxic and less corrosive gasses.
• Dual certified IEEE 1580 Type P and UL 1309/CSA C22.2 No. 245 Type X110.
• Highest ampacity ratings: ABS 100°C, DNV 95°C, LRS 95°C, Transport Canada 95°C
• Severe cold durability: exceeds CSA cold bend/cold impact (-40/-35° C)
• Flame retardant: IEC 60332-3 Category A and IEEE 1202
• Braided armor of bronze. Tinned Copper available by request.
