Product Details

5kV or 8kV Aluminum Conductor power cable as its name would infer, is consisted of aluminum conductors of Class B 1350 aluminum that are compressed and concentrically stranded. This cable features a lead free and cross linked thermosetting semi-conducting shield separating the aluminum conductors from the unfilled extrusions of the TRXLPE insulation. A flat uncoated copper tape of 5 mil thick with 15% overlap is applied round the assembly core and covered with the polyvinyl chloride jacket. This cable is tested and approved as per UL standards worthy to serve its intended purpose and readily available.

Why go for this cable?
This cables comes with three triple shielding layers that improve the rate of stress control to the aluminum conductors. It is made of lead-free insulation and shielding products that are environmental friendly; lead produces a lot of smoke in the presence of fire. Aluminum conductors are soft and malleable hence affirming the flexibility aspect of this cable. Not to forget the lightweight attribute of aluminum made cables.

TRXLPE insulation and the tough PVC jacketing provides a great protection to the cable and the user as well. Imagine handling a bare wire transmitting electric power? You will agree with me that you are likely to get electrocuted, but do not worry because TRXLPE insulation compound is a non-conductor and will keep you away from such risks. This cable is designed to serve in outdoor locations where it may be subjected to very demanding environmental conditions such as strong sunlight radiations, corrosive chemicals, abrasions, moisture, flame and mechanical damages.

Applications
It is a three phase power cable designed to transmit electrical power voltages not exceeding 8 kilo Volts, with a temperature operating rate of 90 degrees Celsius in normal power lines whereas 130 and 250degrees Celsius in emergency and short circuits power lines respectively. This cable is installed through ducts and direct burial methods applied in commercial, industrial and residence buildings.
