Type P Flexible Variable Frequency Drive Power MOR Polyrad XT 125 Unarmored 2Kv/ 1000V

An excellent marine cable is one that can comfortably perform its duties in hot and cold temperatures without deforming or being affected by chemicals. It also needs to be resistant to adverse elements which may include oil, mud, acid and humidity which are common in most marine and offshore locations. For safety purposes, marine cables need to be manufactured in accordance with international specifications. We at Nassau Electrical clearly understands what a marine cable needs to be like. We research what the needs of the customer are and manufacture products to satisfy their needs. Among our products is the Type P Flexible Variable Frequency Drive Power MOR Polyrad XT 125 Unarmored 2 kv/ 1000 V cable. This marine cable has been in use for some time now and has gained confidence with marine users thanks to its great features such as flexibility and ability to work in hazardous environments. Let us find out more about this marine cable;

Conductor
For any cable and wire, a conductor plays a huge role in transmitting electricity. Also the type of material for the conductor used greatly impacts transmission of power. The conductor of this cable is 8 AWG through 777 kcmil soft annealed tinned copper flexible strand. The copper enables the user to bend the cable according to his desires.

Insulation
The insulation is made of polyrad XT- 125 Irradiated Cross- Linked Polyolefin (XLPE). The insulation is all black with numbers printed on it. The polyrad XT- 125 Irradiated Cross- Linked Polyolefin (XLPE) helps the cable to be resistant to corrosion and other elements present at sea.

The ground of the marine cable comprises of 3 split green insulated flexible tinned copper conductors sized to the UL 1277 requirements. The shield of the cable is made of tinned copper braid with aluminum or polyester tape. This provides complete coverage for better shield effectiveness as per VDF applications.

The sheath is oil and mud resistant as the marine environment is often muddy and oily. This is thanks to Irradiated Cross- Linked Chlorinated Polyethylene (XL- CPE). The cable comes in three options; overall braid wire armor, larger sized insulated ground wires and uninsulated ground wires.

Features
There are a number of international rules governing marine cables. This Type P Flexible cable is permitted for exposed run open wiring use in accordance with NEC. It also meets another international requirement, the UL 2225 crush and impact requirements of Type MC- HL Cables. This enables the cable to be resistant to all manner of impacts. The cable is also in compliant with the NEK 606 mud oil resistance requirements with ester based muds.

This cable operates in extreme environments and its temperature is rated at 1250 C. this extends the life of the cable, protection from thermal overloads and higher ampacities. Its cold bend test is -550 C while its cold impact test is -400 C. You can cut it according to your desired needs and this is thanks to the presence of the copper strands. The copper stranding also facilitates easy installation of the cable.

Compliances
You certainly do not want to work with just any ordinary product especially if you are dealing with electrical. For the sake of safety to all parties involved, this marine cable has been rated as follows;

1.API-P14F
2.CSA C22.2 No. 38 type RW90
