PowrServ OH Triplex Al Cond. XLPE Insulation Reverse Twist Sec. Cable
To do the power transmission for three phase distribution system involves the use of a cable with three live conductors and a single neutral strand. This triplex conduction system is majorly used for secondary power distribution line. A secondary distribution line is the distribution from one transformer to several consumers.
Construction of the Cable
The making of our triplex Aluminum conductor consists of two aluminum conductors with an insulation made from cross-linked Polyethylene material. These conductors are twisted around an alloy of Aluminum in a reverse way. This property gives the cable the popular name of Reverse Twisted Secondary (RTS). The Aluminum alloy used is what serves as the neutral path for the cable. This RTS cable has all the features needed for competence in the technological market. It meets the international Standards because it has passed the electric, mechanical and quality tests. The feature of reverse twisting helps to increase surface area for cooling the cable during high temperature, besides it is also made to have efficient conduction of electricity due to its reverse twisting.
Features and Benefits
Various benefits of the Triplex Aluminum cable can be indicated, they include:
• Resistant to abrasion, tearing, and weathering.
• Resistant to sun heat damage.
• Free from Chemical decay.
This RTS cable has an insulation which is competent enough to provide safety to the cable and the users. Because of this, it is difficult for the cable to suffer from damages during installation. The material used for making the insulation is polyethylene which is a reliable material. RTS cable is efficient for transmission at 600 volts since that is the rating, besides it can work even at a maximum temperature of 90 degrees Celsius.
Insulation and the Neutral
The main feature of the insulation is its black coating with a lead-free extrusion design. The neutral is bare and made from any class of Aluminum alloy.
Application
It is very important to think through when choosing a cable to use, one of the main considerations is the application of the cable. This RTS cable is used for secondary power distribution because it is a triplex Al conductor cable. Its left-right-left make up helps in the tapping of wires at the mid spans.
