Description:
•  535 DLO Cable can be used in a wide variety of environments, including underground and off-shore. It is manufactured to be one of the most durable cables available. The cable is made in accordance to ICEA S-75-381: Portable and Power Feeder Cables for Use in Mines and Similar Locations. It is MSHA accepted under P-7K-123040 and is UL Listed per UL 44 as a Type RHH/RHW-2 cable. It’s also CSA listed as a type RW90 1kV cable under C22.2 No 3895. The cable complies with flame tests FT-4 and VW-1 and is rated as a low smoke cable. It is RoHS compliant
• This type of cable has a thick diameter and is designed for maximum heavy-duty performance. Its jacketing is sturdy enough to withstand the harsh abuse, high stress and the extreme temperatures in the electric Diesel locomotive applications.

Features:
This 535 MCM DLO Cable has a maximum temperature rating of 90°C for environments that are dry and wet. Its good jacket is sturdy with excellent resistance to impact and abrasion. Due to its application in oily environments, its jacket is made to resist oils, water, acids and other industrial solvents that would otherwise wear out the cable. The cable is also designed to resist extreme heat and flame due to its punishing working environments.

Construction
Just like the general DLO Cable, type 535 MCM DLO is also fitted with a compacted fully stranded, annealed tin-plated copper conductor. The insulator is made of EPDM. The jacket has a standard black color.

Applications:

As the name implies, this cable’s primary function is in diesel locomotives, specifically as a power supply cable in diesel-electric locomotives. However, it may also be used as a portable cable on off-short and on-short drilling rigs, in the wiring of transit and railroad cars, and in electric earth-moving machinery. It can be found in shipyard applications, jumper cables, Telcom power supplies, and in arc welder supply leads.

DLO is especially suitable to supply power to traction motors of diesel-electric locomotives. It is also recommended as a portable cable for drilling rigs, on-shore or off-shore, railroad and transit car wiring, electric earth-moving equipment, in shipyard applications, arc welder supply leads, power and control jumper cable, Telcom power supply and motor leads. The cable is suitable for use in wet or dry areas, conduit, ducts, troughs or trays, and where superior electrical properties are desired. The maximum continuous conductor temperature for normal operation in wet or dry locations is 90°C. DLO resists oils, acids, alkalies, heat, flame, and has abrasion resistance.

Specifications:
• Made in accordance with ICEA S-75-381 - Portable and Power Feeder Cables for Use in Mines and Similar Locations
• MSHA accepted (P-7K-123040)
• RoHS Compliant
• UL listed as Type RHH-RHW-2 per UL 44
• CSA listed as Type RW90 1kV per C22.2 No 3895
• Low Smoke Rated (LS-UL)
• Meets FT-4 and VW-1 Flame Tests

The 535 DLO cable’s primary function is the supply of power in diesel-electric engines. It also comes in handy as an easily portable cable for use in on-short and off-short drilling rigs. Its other uses include in earth-moving equipment that use electronic parts, as part of the wiring in rail and transit vehicles, in hoists and cranes, in generation of electricity, as well as in the equipment used in mining and other such industries that frequently use heavy-duty machinery. Some of the areas you are likely to find the 535 DLO cable include in arc welding, telecom power supply, and shipyards. Most diesel-electric engines use this cable as part of their power supply wiring system.

The cable can be used in both dry and wet areas. It has an ability to resist acids, oils, heat, alkalis and frames. It can withstand temperatures of up to 90°C in both wet and dry areas and is abrasion resistant. Its resistance to heat makes it a perfect choice for use in high-temperature environments. The cable, considered amongst the most versatile has been found to be impressively long lasting. It complies with VW-1 and FT-4 fame tests and is considered a low-smoke wire.

The 535 DLO cable’s insulation ensures it does not get affected by acids, oils moisture and alkalis. The insulation thickness stands at 0.11 inches. It, therefore, makes for a perfect cable to be used in areas where acid discharges, downpours and oil releases are common. Whether these liquid ejections are accidental or not, using the 535 cable is a smart way to avoid unnecessary and incessant repairs of the wiring system.

This cable weighs around 212.5 pounds for every 100 feet, has an O.D of 1.34 inches and has an AI/Stl of 1332/24. It is the choice cable for CT use and has an exceptional impact resistance. In addition, it finds perfect use in the wiring systems of applications that operate in -40°C environments.
