This stranded bare copper multi-conductor is designed to be used in marine environments where they are susceptible to corrosion. The durable tensile strength and great conductivity of copper makes it an ideal choice in making marine cables and wires. This control cable has a PVC insulation and clear nylon jacket.

    Applications
    • For use on offshore drilling rigs, fixed and floating offshore facilities, and abroad marine vessels
    • This cable is used in control, electronic, communicating, and indicating circuits and systems where multi-conductor cables are needed. It is used to wire fire and gas detection systems, driller’s console, video camera systems, ballast controls, bilge controls, and general alarm systems.

    Insulation
    • Thermoplastic (PVC) insulation
    • PVC is used as the primary insulation of the cable. PVC has good water resistance and excellent acid resistance. It also has excellent oxidation resistance, and flame resistance. It also resists oil and low temperature. It adequately resists ozone.

    Jacketing
    • Clear nylon jacket
    • A jacketing material made of nylon is used to protect the primary insulation of PVC. Nylon has excellent resistance to oxidation, heat, oil, sun, ozone, and abrasion. It has good low temperature resistance. Both PVC and Nylon ensure that the cable performs well in environments exhibiting high temperatures and exposure to oil.

    Characteristics
    • Type C14T/NTA with aluminum armor
    • Type C14T/NTB with bronze armor
    • Type C14(OS)T/NT variant includes an overall shield of polyester/aluminum foil tape with a drain wire under the jacket
    • Applications of up to 600 volts
    • Flame retardant – meets IEEE 1202/UL 1685 flame test requirements.
