Product Details

These conductor cables are designed for signal transmission within the marine environments. They are made of bare copper material and tend to offer excellent conductivity. With bare or solid copper wire, it does not mean that it does not undergo the tinning process. It actually does but the tin layer is so light that it does not significantly change the electrical and thermal properties of the core copper material. Bare copper is regarded as a better conductor compared to tinned copper but there may be situations that require you to have a tinned copper especially where thermal performance, solderability, and electrical conductivity are desired.

Applications
• The cables are designed for use in marine environments including marine vessels, off shore drilling rigs, floating offshore facilities, and in fixed offshore and onshore facilities.
• These cables are widely used in signal transmissions, especially within the harsh marine environments. They are used where twisted conductors are needed and where shielding should be provided to protect the installations from elements such as electromagnetic interferences. Typical applications entail tank level indicating systems, smoke detectors, communication equipment, gas detectors, fire detectors, and CO2 systems.

Insulation and jacketing
• PVC material
• When used an insulation and jacketing material, PVC provides resistance to several elements. It resists sunlight, chemicals, oils, fire, flame, and abrasion.

Sheath
• Nylon
• Nylon may be used to add protection on a PVC insulation. It will protect the insulation against physical as well as chemical damage.

Armor
• Bronze or aluminum armor
• To ensure resistance to cold bend, cold impact, or crash, armoring material made of bronze or aluminum is used.
