Description:
Aluminum Quadruplex cable is a Direct Bury wire commonly used in the secondary underground distribution system. It helps to reduce the magnitude of current in transformers so that it can be used in residential households. It has up to four conductors with three being the phase conductors and the extra one being the neutral conductor. The conductors are printed on the surface while the neutral wire has a yellow strip for identification purposes. Conductors are cabled together in a rope lay manner or parallel to each other depending on your specifications.

Underground quadruplex cable conductors are protected by a tough insulation. The insulation protects the conductor from external forces such as abrasion, impact, corrosion, cutting, moisture and heat. Furthermore, it is marked with sequential footage markings to avoid miscalculation and guess work during installation. The cable can easily power up applications with a voltage rating of 600 volts and below.

Applications:
Aluminum quadruplex URD electrical wire is used for underground power supply systems in residential zones. The cable can used for direct burial or can be installed in conduits or ducts which channel the cable to a given direction. Furthermore it can also be used in wet and dry locations.

Conductors:
The conductors are made of aluminum alloy 1350-H19. The conductors are each stranded for flexibility.

Insulation:
It is made of cross-linked polyethylene. It can withstand high temperatures of 90°C.

Features:
• It has sequential footage markings
• Heat and moisture resistant
• Approved for use by international standards
• Temperatures of 90°C

Standards:
• B-230 - Aluminum 1350-H19, extra hard, round wire for electrical purposes. The aluminum wire shall be made from drawing stock and shall be free of brittleness as evidenced by its ability to be coiled or looped around its own diameter with or without a mandrel.
• B-231 - Aluminum 1350-H19, 1350-H16 or -H26, 1350-H14 or -H24, and 1350-H142 or -H242, bare concentric-lay-stranded conductors constructed with a straight round central wire surrounded by one or more layers of helically layered wires.
• B-609 - Annealed and intermediate tempered round aluminum wires suitable for electrical purposes like stranding into conductors or for solid single conductors, either bare or insulated.
• B-901 - Aluminum 1350-H19, 1350-H16 or -H26, 1350-H14 or -H24, 1350-H142 or -H242, and aluminum alloy 8XXX series for tempers "O" and H1X or H2X, bare stranded conductors composed of one or more roller shaped or die compressed layers of helically laid wires.
• ICEA S-105-692
• Federal Specification J-C-30B
• RUS Accepted
