15KV SPACER CABLE TREE WIRE - All-Aluminum Conductors - 350 kcmil

The 15 KV Spacer Cable Tree Wire is used for primary and/or secondary distribution, above areas where only awkward or tight space is accessible or available.  Introduced and used as a conductor that is not insulated; however a track resistant cross linked polyethylene covering is available in the anticipation and prevention of direct shorts and spontaneous flashovers that may take place in the event a tree branches or other unforeseen objects make contact within a short distance of the conductor.

This wire is used for areas where trees inhibit a direct run, for example, in lush forested locations. The optional covering minimizes power blackouts as a result of conductor contact with tree appendages, diminishing the requirement for ongoing or extreme trimming.

Installed with other spacer cables and a supporting carrier through a progression of equipment that manage and provide space. The subsequent closeness configuration minimizes the distance and equipment required for line installation; especially valuable in congested regions.

Product Highlights

  • The conductors are aligned side by side, 1350-H19 aluminum (they are either compressed or totally compact depending on the size of the conductor).
  • They are available with an inner layer of all natural PE or XLPE as well as an outside layer of higher-density track-resistant polyethylene (HDTRPE)
  • It may instead have a Track-Resistant Cross linked Polyethylene (XLPE) covering.
  • A strand shield option is available as shown in a drawn illustration.

Technical Standards

B-230              Aluminum Wire, 1350-H19. This is an extra hard and strong wire for purposes of electrical work. This aluminum wiring is made from a drawing stock and it is free of any frailty as is witnessed by its ability to be looped and or coiled around its own width either with or without a mandrel.

B-231              Aluminum Conductors, Concentric-Lay-Stranded. These are made with a straight round main wire which is enclosed with either one or more layers of coiled wires.

B-232              Aluminum Conductors, Concentric-Lay-Stranded, Coated Steel Reinforced (ACSR). These are made from round wires of aluminum and contain a round core of steel wire for electrical overhead conductor uses.

B-498              Zinc-Coated (Galvanized) Steel Core Wire for Aluminum Conductors, Steel Reinforced (ACSR). These have three different grades of zinc finish which is used for mechanical reinforcing in the making of aluminum conductors.
