Product Details

MIL-DTL-24643/43 is a low smoke small boat shipboard cable made of tinned copper. The tin coating steps up the thermal performance of the cable. It also reduces the ability of the conductors to corrode and oxidize at high temperatures. Tin coating on the conductor makes it easy to solder it during installations. Also, tin plating on the copper improves the conductivity of the cable. This non-watertight cable is shielded for more protection. It is used in applications of up to 600 volts.

Applications
• Designed for use innon-watertight, non-flexing applications
• For use on small boats shipboard applications
• The MIL-DTL-24643/43 may be used for different applications including power circuits, lighting, communications, and combat systems. It is used where 60 dB shielding is desired.

Insulation
• Cross-linked XLPE
• Polyethylene is used to insulate the MIL-DTL-24643/43 conductor cable. Polyethylene has excellent electric properties ensuring that it works well when used on low capacitance and coaxial cables. Polyethylene is cheaper that other insulation materials and is used where high speed transmission cables are desired.

Jacketing
• Cross-linked polyolefin low-smoke, halogen-free
• A jacketing material made of cross-linked polyolefin (XLPO) is used on the MIL-DTL-24643/43 cable. This low smoke, halogen free XLPO ensures that there are no harmful gases produced when it is burned. Cross-linked polyolefin (XLPO) resists UV light and chemical.

Armor and shield
• Shield: braided tin-coated copper
• Armor:braided aluminum
MIL-DTL-24643/43 has a shield made of braided tinned copper to ensure protection against corrosion and oxidation. It has braided aluminum armor for protection against mechanical forces.
