• Seacoast 16 AWG Multi Conductors Types C16XT, C16XTA, C16XTB and C16(OS)XT XLP insulation Cable

    Product Details

A multi-conductor made of stranded bare copper wires. This cable is designed for use in marine environments where harsh conditions are expected. It is insulated with cross-linked polyethylene and jacketed with PVC for enhanced performance. The cable is used in applications using up to 600 volts and has a temperature rating of 90 degrees Celsius.

    Applications
    • Cable for use on offshore drilling rigs, fixed and floating offshore facilities, and abroad marine vessels
    • These multi-conductor cables can be used to wire control systems, electronics, and in wiring of communication and indicating circuits that need the use of multiple conductors. The cables have widely been used to in wiring projects for detection systems such as fire and gas detectors, driller consoles, and in video surveillance equipment’s. It is also used in wiring ballast controls and general alarm systems as well as bilge controls.

    Insulation
    • Cross-Linked Polyethylene (XLP)
    • The multi-conductors are insulated using cross-linked polyethylene (XLP) material. XLP is known for its excellent resistance to impact, mechanical forces, and cutting. XLP is also known for its high insulation resistance or IR. It has a tough material when used in areas with low temperatures ranging below 100 degrees Celsius. On top of that, XLP has an excellent dielectric strength.

    Jacket
    • PVC jacket
    • A PVC jacketing material is used to protect the primary insulation. This jacket offers adequate resistance to water, acid, and oxidation. It also resists flame and ozone. The material offers substantial resistance to oil.

    Characteristics
    • Type C16(OS)XT variant includes an overall shield of polyester/aluminum foil tape with drain wire under the jacket
    • Temperature rating 90°C
    • Applications of up to 600 volts
    • braided metal armor (optional)
    • binder tape as required
    • Flame retardant – meets IEEE 1202/UL 1685 flame test requirements
    • Type C16XTB with bronze armor
    • Type C16XTA with aluminum armor
