Photovoltaic PV Cable - 600V Cross-Linked Polyethylene Insulated 600 Volts - -40° to 90° Wet and Dry

Product Description:

This cable consists of a stranded bare copper conductor insulated with a cross-linked polyethylene insulation.  The conductor is available in 7 or 19 strands.  The copper components of the cable align with specifications set forth by American Society for Testing and Materials standards B-3 and B-8.  These ASTM standards test the quality of the copper metal used for conductive purposes.  The cross-linked polyethylene that makes up the insulation is a thermoset plastic product that is resistant to sunlight, oil, and other corrosive materials.  This cable is available in black, green, white, and red.  The cable comes with print on one side and an extruded stripe or other colors are available upon request.

Applications:

These cables are designed for use in grounded internnection and ungrounded photovoltaic power systems.  Photovoltaic power systems, also known as PV systems, supply usable solar power through means of photovoltaics.  This cable is UL listed as photovoltaic cable per UL standard 4703 and UL 44.  This cable is able to transmit ampacities of up to 600 volts and can function continuously in temperatures between -40° to 90° in wet or dry locations.

Specifications:

  • In accordance with standards set forth by the American Society for Testing and Materials, a regulations and compliance organization established over 100 years ago, this product aligns with ASTM standards B-3 and B-8.  These specifications set the standards for stranded bare copper conductors and soft annealed copper used for conductive purposes.
  • The cable meets Underwriters Laboratories standard 4703, a standard that measures the performance of cables for use in ungrounded photovoltaic power systems.
  • The cable meets UL standard 44, a standard that measures the performance of thermoset insulated cables.

Construction:

-                Conductors

  • The cable employs a stranded bare copper conductor with the option of 7 or 19 strands.
  • The copper components of the cable align with specifications set forth by American Society for Testing and Materials standards B-3 and B-8.

-                Insulation

  • The conductors are insulated with a cross-linked polyethylene insulation
  • The insulation provides protection from corrosion and also adds mechanical strength to the cable.
