Product Details

Type MV-105 power cable has three conductors made of compacted Class B stranded aluminum 1350 or the annealed soft drawn copper in accordance to ASTM specifications. These three conductors are shielded with an extruded thermosetting and semiconducting layer, forming a free stripping from the conductor. The assembly is then insulated with a high dielectric strength EPR compound that is also shielded an extruded thermosetting layer. A metallic shield of non-magnetic copper tape is helically applied round the core with a minimum overlap of 25%. 

Mylar ribbon is applied longitudinally beneath the copper tape shield for phase identity, it is color coded in red, blue and black. A complete cable like Type Mv-105 cable comes with a grounding wire that acts as a neutral path. The grounding wire is made of a stranded bare copper wire in accordance to ICEA, UL and the ASTM specifications. It is laid closely to the metallic shielded conductors and wrapped with a binder tape to hold it firmly to the conductors maintaining the symmetry. This cable is then coated with a strong Air Bag that is crush resistant and jacketed with the Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC).

Conductor
This cable features aluminum 1350 conductors or the soft drawn copper conductors. The use of 1350 aluminum series and the soft drawn copper conductors affirms the flexibility aspect of this cable; this is because they are soft and malleable as compared to standard aluminum and copper. The cables is flexible and hence easy to handle especially during installation as compared to stiff and rigid cables.

Insulation
Ethylene Propylene Rubber (EPR) EPROTENAX offers a high dielectric strength which helps in eliminating dielectric loss thus improving the electrical conductivity of the cable. Insulation of the three live conductors keeps the cable safe as well as the user. EPR compound prevents the cable from corrosive chemicals and mechanical damages that may cause distortion to the cable during and after installation. It is a semiconducting compound that does not permit the flow of electrical power therefore will protect the user from electric shocks.

Insulation of the live conductors creates a permanent barrier between them and the grounding conductors. This ensures that they do not get into any form of contact that would lead to power blows, shutting down your equipment. Separation of the live conductors and the neutral wire (grounding conductor) improves the electrical conductivity of Prysmian MV-105 cable.

Jacketing
It is the outer surface of this cable made of Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) and a high strength Air Bag. The strong Air Bag extruding over the core assembly offers a great mechanical protection to the cable, ensuring that it does not succumb to deformations easily. PVC jacketing layer keeps the cable away from moisture, strong sunlight radiations, flames and corrosive chemicals. Applications
Type MV-105 power cable has an operational temperature ratings of -40 degrees Celsius up to 105 degrees Celsius. This shows that it is a dual serving power cable that can perform in both wet and dry locations without difficulty. It is applied in Class 1 and Class 2 installations as a commercial and industrial cable.
