Product Details

This cable is yet another flexible one thanks to the conductor which has been made of class 5 stranded copper per IEC 60228. The cable has been insulated using a black material that has printed numbers on it. The insulation is a 900 C low smoke halogen free irradiated cross linked polyolefin (EI 106 to EI 109). The same material makes up the sheath only that the polyolefin is EI 101 to EI 104. The cable is used to install safe circuits, lighting circuits, control and monitoring circuits and auxiliary and electric heating circuits.

Construction
Low Smoke Halogen Free cable comprises of a copper conductor which makes the cable very flexible and easily bend as the user may require it. As you have already seen that there are many types of these kinds of cables, some are single stranded while others are multi- stranded depending on the area of use. The LSHF cables are insulated and jacketed with thermoplastic or thermoset compounds. This makes the cable safe for use when exposed to heat or flame as it emits limited amounts of smoke and no halogen.

Why Go For LSHF Cables?
LSHF cables are now a favorite of contractors due to the increased demand for the use of safe materials in public areas and buildings. It is evident that smoke and other poisonous fumes can cause greater havoc to lives than just fire alone. During emergency fire outbreaks, the low smoke factor in these cables enable maintain visibility and also combats respiratory damage. The halogen free material also plays a huge role in reducing the production of dangerous halogenated gases. Apart from the health benefits that come with these cables is that they are very flexible due the copper conductor. This enables the installation and termination processes to be easily carried out.

Certification and Approval
When it comes to cables and wires you should not play around with shoddy products. For purposes of safety to those installing and the end user, only go for products that have been tested and proven safe. The following are the certification and approvals of low smoke halogen free cables.

1.Fire resistant (Gexol-331HF) and Fire Retardant (Gexol-HF)
2.Certified to IEC 92-3 (332-3A) and IEEE 1202
3.EN 50305/EN 60811-2-2: Resistant to Oil and Fuel
4.EN 60811-2-1: Resistant to Mineral Oil
5.Exceeds CSA cold bent/cold impact (-40°C/-35°C)
6.No SVHC Listed Chemicals under REACH
7.RoHS Compliant
8.EN 50305: Ozone-Resistant; No Toxicity
