    Type MP-GC - 5KV cables are made of 3 annealed stranded copper conductor cables sheathed by a stranded shield, insulated by a choice of ethylene propylene rubber (EPR) or cross-linked polyethylene (XPLE). This 5kV cable configuration is available in 7, 19, or 37-stranded configurations and has both semi-conducting and metallic two bare ground and one 8-gauge grounding conductor shielding tapes interstice in the power conductors. Fillers are added to this complex in making them round and an overlapping mono-faced rubber tape is applied as well. The tape of the MP-GC 5KV is made of premium quality chlorinated polyethylene (CPE). Temperature ranges for this cable operate between 90 - 250 degrees Celsius.

    The Type MP-GC 5KV  has applications well-suited to high-voltage configurations in power management systems for mines, mine tunnels and shafts. It also aids in ongoing ground systems monitoring, as well as for underground installations in ducts, trays and troughs.

    Technical Standards

    ICEA S-66-524 (NEMA WC7): applies to materials, constructions, and testing of cross-linked thermosetting polyethylene-insulated wires and cables that are used for the transmission and distribution of electrical energy for normal conditions of installation and service, either indoors, aerial, underground, or submarine.

    Applications: This cable is designed for high voltage connections between power distribution systems in mines, mine tunnels, shafts, and mine load centers where continuous monitoring of the ground system is required. This cable is suitable for installation in Ducts, troughs, tray or direct burial for nonflexing service.

    Construction: Conductor is stranded annealed copper enveloped in a strand shield. Insulation is Ethylene Proplylene Rubber (EPR) or Cross Linked Polyethylene (XLPE). Assembly is semi-conducting tape and a metallic tape shield with grounding conductors consisting of two bare grounds and one 8-gauge insulated ground check that are cabled together in the interstices of the power conductors and fillers are added to make round. A single faced rubber filled tape is applied overlapped. Jacket is Chlorinated Polyethylene (CPE). Standards Conforms to ICEA S-66-524 (NEMA WC8).
