Butte 312.8 AAAC

Butte 312.8 AAAC All Aluminum Alloy Conductor

Product Description:

Durable, corrosion-resistant aluminum alloy construction makes this conductor an extremely long-lasting and reliable product.  The high-strength aluminum alloy also gives the conductor an exceptional strength-to-weight ratio and shows very little sag once stranded overhead

Applications:

All Aluminum Alloy Conductor is a bare conductor used for overhead transmission as well as for primary and secondary distribution..  This wire is preferred over other bare aluminum conductors in scenarios where high-strength is needed, but steel reinforcement is not a suitable option.  This conductor shows superior resistance to corrosion when compared to ACSR.  Capable of handling extremely high voltages, this overhead transmission wire is also preferred in scenarios when heavy ampacity is needed.  This cable is most ideal for high voltage use in coastal areas, or areas with high winds or frequent storms.

Specifications:

In accordance with specifications set forth by the American Society for Testing and Materials:

  • This product meets conductor standards of aluminum alloy 6201-T81.
  • Concentric-lay-stranded 6201-T81 aluminum alloy conductors are categorized as B-398 and B-399.

Construction:

  • Conductors

-                6201-T81 aluminum alloy conductors.  6201-T81 aluminum alloy is a high strength aluminum alloy for added durability and reduced sag when stranded overhead.  6201-T81 aluminum alloy is also more resistant to abrasion than 1350-H19 aluminum.

  • Stranding

-           Helically stranded.

  • Ampacity

            -           Medium to high voltages.
