Description:
Stephens 2-2-4 Aluminum wire is an efficient URD cable with three conductors. The two phase conductors of this cable have smaller gauge sizes of 2 AWG than the neutral conductor with a 4 AWG size. The cable is fitted with an aluminum alloy, XLPE insulation and the insulation for the neutral wire is yellow striped for identification. The properties of this cable make it fit for direct burial, ducts and for use in service entrance. It serves 165 amps as a direct burial cable and 120 amps when used in ducts.

Applications:
2-2-4 Direct Burial cable specifically designed for underground distribution systems. In extreme environmental conditions, the cross-linked polyethylene is used since it can withstand temperatures of up to 90°C.

Conductors:
They are made of aluminum alloy which are compressed in 1350-H19. Only 99.5% of the conductor is made of aluminum the rest is made of zinc, copper and silicon.

Insulation:
The insulation is made of standard polyethylene or cross-linked polyethylene.
