• Duplex Aluminum Service Drop Cable

    Product Details

A good power transmission cable is one the conducts electric current without much difficulty. The Duplex Aluminum Service Dropping cable is a good example of a quality power transmission cable that am going to share with you on this post.

This cable has four electrodes where by two of its electrodes come in a concentric-lay strand, one is an insulated phase electrode, while the remaining electrode is bare and left as a neutral conductor. The phase electrode can be coated with either the standard polyethylene insulation or the Cross-linked polyethylene jacket. This cable is made of aluminum metal compressed at 1350-H19.

    Features
    • The aluminum 1350-H19 used in making this cable boosts the conductivity of the cable as well as adding
        strength to its mechanical efficiency.
    • The Phase electrode of this cable has a standard polyethylene insulator that protects it from excessive
moisture, dryness and stronger sunlight radiation. This unique insulation also prevents the cable from abrasion
and cuttings, thus help in ensuring a long life of quality service.
    • This cable has a voltage rating of 600 volts, which makes it suitable for power transmission of higher voltages
        of up to 600 volts.

The cable transmits power safely in temperatures under 900C. The maximum temperature for transmission largely depends on the insulation material used for coating the cable. When the standard polyethylene insulator jacket is used in coating, the cable can only handle high temperatures of up to 75 900C, whereas the use of cross-linked Polyethylene jacket can withstand temperatures of up to 900C.

    Applications
The Duplex Aluminum Service cable is used as an overhead power distribution cable majorly from the service drop infrastructure to the owner’s premises. It’s also commonly used in street lighting and outdoor security lightning.

Generally, this is a good cable that I would fully recommend for underground cabling. For a quote, or more information on this cables, and other cables, feel free to contact us and we’ll be glad to help you out.
