Description:
• 2-2-4 Aluminum SER cable consists of Alumaflex™ AA-8000 series aluminum alloy compact stranded conductors as well as options of Type XHHW-2 or Type THHN/THWN conductors.  Conductors are encased in a polyvinyl chloride jacket to protect from heat and sunlight damage.  Type SE has also proven to be able to function well in excessively dry or moist climates.

6.00:
• Aluminum Service Entrance cable is employed at the point of transmission where secondary distribution is sent from the service drop into a residence or building.  The cable delivers energy to the meter base and then to the building’s distribution panel.  It can carry voltages up to 600 volts and function in temperatures up to 90°C.  SE should be used above ground.

Specifications:
• The XHHW-2 conductors meet or exceed UL 44 standard.
• Type THHN/THWN conductors meet or exceed UL Standard 83.
• Product meets Federal Specification A-A 59544 and meets specifications of NEC 1

Construction:
Conductors:
• The main conductors in the SE components are Type XHHW-2 or Type THHN/THWN conductors.  This product also contains compact stranded AlumaFlex™ AA-8000 series aluminum alloy conductors.

Color Coding:
• Outer jacket is gray.  Conductors are colored black, while ground wires are bare.

Outer Jacket:
• A protective PVC jacket is applied over the conductors to further protect against heat, corrosion, and sunlight. 

Construction Options:
• 2 conductor cable which includes 2 phase conductors and a bare ground wire.
• 3 conductor cable with 2 phase conductors, a neutral conductor, and a bare ground wire.
• 4 conductor cable with 3 phase conductors, neutral conductor, and a bare ground wire.
