General Cable Flexible Triad Signal Cable Type P Individually/Overall Shielded Armored and Sheathed MOR® Polyrad XT-125 600 V/1000 V

Product Details

Polyrad Armored and Sheathed MOR cable comes in multi conductors of size 18 through 16 AWG. These conductors are made of annealed and tinned copper wires that are soft and malleable rendering the cable flexible. They are insulated with an irradiated cross linked polyolefin that is printed in numbers with black, white and red color coding for identification. Triads and draining wires are shielded with aluminum foil or polymeric tape, and jacketed with a black irradiated XL-CPE. The cable is armored with braided bronze at 88% minimum coverage to limit overlapping and MOR sheathing.

Standards and Approvals

1.CSA C22.2 No. 245 Type X110
2.IEEE 1202
3.IEC 60332-3-22 Cat
4.UL 1309 Type X110
5.UL Listed 1100C Marine Shipboard Cable

Features

1.Conductors
Annealed and tinned copper conductors improves the electrical conductivity of this cable. Annealing is the process of heating copper wire making it soft and malleable without interfering with its good electrical properties; this makes the copper conductors and the cable flexible hence easy to handle. Tinning is the process of coating a copper conductor with a thin layer of metal making it corrosive resistance thus improving its protective feature.

2.Shielding
Aluminum foil or polymeric tape shielding gives an additional mechanical protection to the cable by controlling stress impacts. Shielding of the conductors keeps them straight in their positions limiting overlapping, improving electrical conductivity of the cable. It also ensures that there is no signal distortion.

3.Jacketing, Armor & Sheath
The cross linked chlorinated polyethylene jacketing and braided bronze armor keeps the cable safe from chemical and mechanical damages. Sheathing of this cable is Mud and Oil Resistant enabling it to withstand the offshore and onshore drilling environments. Armored Type P cables do not succumb to deformations easily and can serve for a much longer time.

Applications
This cable is meant to serve in both wet and dry conditions within the temperature range of -40 to 1250C. It is used in land based and offshore oil and gas drilling rigs in Class 1 and Division 1 dangerous zones.
