    These unshielded RSCC Aerodefense space cables are made using silver coated copper or an alloy of copper. These are lightweight cables and designed to work in different operating voltages ranging from 300 volts to 600 volts and at temperatures of up to 200 degrees Celsius. A silver coating on these cables provide ease of soldering. Silver coating on the conductor allows greater conductivity considering that silver offers 106 percent more conductivity to that of copper. At high temperatures, silver provides good thermal performance.

    Applications
    • Designed for installation that demand voltage of up to 600 volts and locations inhibiting temperatures of up to 200 degrees Celsius.
    • For use in spacecraft applications
    • These unshielded space conductors are made for installations in spacecraft. They may also be used for installations in ships where no shielding levels are needed. The cables help reduce the cost of installations because they do not require running them inside conduits and they can be laid together without causing electromagnet interferences.

    Insulation
    • Cross-linked ETFE
    • An insulation material made of modified ethylene tetrafluorethylene copolymer (ETFE) is used to protect the conductor. This insulator offers more strength compared to the usual ETFE material through the cross-linking process. It also resists cold flow and abrasion. It is resistant to radiation while at the same time offering substantial outgassing features.

    Jacket material
    • Cross linked ETFE
    • For enhanced protection of the insulation, a jacketing material designed of cross-linked ETFE is used.
