Prysmian and Draka Cable BFOU-HCF(c) 150/250 (300) V HydroCarbon Fire resistant, Flame Retardant Halogen-free Instrumentation Cable

Product Details

This is an instrumentation cable that comes in tinned and annealed concentrically stranded copper conductors, which are insulated and twisted in pairs, triples and quads. A draining wire that acts as the neutral path is bonded closely to the conductors and then wrapped with a PET to form an assembly. The assembly is armored or screened and covered with an extruded heat block of Hydrocarbon. It has two sheathing layers which are made of flame resistance materials.

Standards and Applications

1.DrakaNorskKabel – HCF Protection
2.IEC 60228 Class II Conductors
3.IEC 60092-360 – Insulation
4.IEC 60092-353 – Design
5.IEC 60754-1, 2 – Halogen Free
6.IEC 61034-1, 2 – Low Smoke

Core Identification
Prysmian&Draka HCF Cable conductors are twisted in pairs which are colored black and light blue, whereas triples are black, light blue and brown for identity. This eliminates confusion during installation.

Features

Conductor Tinning of the copper conductors makes them corrosive resistance, thus adding to protective features of the cable. These conductors are lightweight and flexible making the cable easy to install. Lightweight and flexible cables like this Prysmian&Draka Arctic cable require less effort to lift and fold taking less termination time as compared to heavy and rigid cables.

Insulation and Jacketing
This cable is insulated with a flame resistant Ethylene Propylene Rubber which is protective from chemical and mechanical damages. EPR is wrapped with a mica tape which is known to have high thermal and can withstand high temperature conditions.

The sheathing layers are halogen free hence produces less smoke to the environment when exposed to fire. They are also mud and silt resistant keeping the cable safe in such conditions. These layers are color coded in grey, black or blue for easy identification.

It is armored or screened to improve mechanical protection. This is a tough covering layer that keeps the cable from deformations. The extruded hydrocarbon heat-block also provides an additional protection to the cable.

Applications
This cable has an operational temperature rating at 90 degrees Celsius to withstand installations in dry locations to serve power at 300 voltage. The cable is used as an extended fire and oil instrumentation cable.
