Seacoast Type LSMHOF 7 Through 61 Conductors 600 Volts Cable Non-Watertight Flexing Service MIL-C-24643/7

This is a stranded bare copper conductor made for use in marine environments. It is insulated with XLP or ethylene propylene rubber and has a binder tape. It also has a jacket of cross-linked polyolefin. It is ideal for use in application demanding up to 600 volts.

Applications
• Cable used on offshore drilling rigs, fixed and floating offshore facilities, and abroad marine vessels
• The uncoated copper strands are designed for use in wiring electronics, communication equipment, indication circuits, and control systems that demand the use of flexible conductors. The cable can be used to wire systems like the alarm systems, gas detectors, fire detection equipment’s, video surveillance systems, alarm systems. It is also used in wiring of drillers console within the marine or drilling environments. It may also be used to wire tank level indicators, CO2 systems, and smoke detectors.

Insulation
• XLP or ethylene propylene rubber
• The cable is insulated with ethylene propylene rubber or cross-linked polyethylene. Ethylene propylene rubber (EPR) has excellent thermal characteristics. It not only allows for a small cross sectional area within the same load carrying capacity found in other cable but is also flexible. It is used widely in high voltage cables and has found applications in the oil drilling and marine environment. EPR is resistant to elements like oxidation, weathering, heat, alcohol, water, acid, and alkali. Because it is a soft material, care may be needed when doing wiring installation. On the flip side, XLP offers excellent resistance to things like impact, mechanical forces, as well as cutting. It is also tough when used in low temperatures not reaching 100 degrees Celsius. XLP is said to have excellent dielectric strength.

Jacketing
• cross-linked polyolefin jacket
• A jacketing material made of cross-linkedpolyolefin is used to protect the primary insulation.

Characteristics
• Applications of up to 600 volts
• Stranded bare copper conductor
