General Cable Anaconda® Brand Type G-GC 4 Gauge Power Flat Parallel Portable w/Ground-Check EPR CPE 2000 Volts Three Conductor

Product Details

The 4 Gauge Anaconda® Brand Type G-GC Power Cable features a flat design which gives it exceptional resistance to being crushing.  The conductors in this cable are laid in a side-by-side, parallel orientation to better absorb impact from heavy objects.  The cable’s durability and resilience has earned itself an approval rating from MSHA, the Mining Safety and Health Administration.  With a voltage rating of 2,000 volts, this cable is fit for almost any mining project.

The cable gets most of its strength from its extra heavy-duty exterior jacket.  The CPE jacket is a layer of lead-cured, chlorinated polyethylene.  This material is a widely popular thermoplastic product that is resistant to oils, chemicals, high or low temperatures, and weather.  CPE jacketed cables are also flame retardant and have great tensile strength.  The jacket helps with the cable’s overall resistance to crushing, abrasion, and cut-through.

In addition to its strength and durability, the Anaconda® Brand Type G-GC 4 Gauge Power Cable offers the flexibility needed for easy handling.  Most of the cable’s flexibility is derived from the cable’s conductors.  This cable employs coated, annealed, rope-lay-stranded copper conductors that align with ASTM B172.  Annealed copper conductors undergo a process of being heated and then slowly cooled, which makes the metal tougher but more malleable.  The end result is a copper product with the same powerful conductive properties as standard cable, but with significantly improved flexibility.   The copper conductors are insulated with a flexible EPR, synthetic rubber insulation.  The insulation is D-shaped to fit snugly within the jacket so that the conductors wont shift under stress.

Product Highlights:

v Anaconda® Brand Type G-GC Power Cable is listed as acceptable by MSHA.

v The cable’s flat construction keeps conductors from shifting under the cable’s jacket.  The cable offers premium crush and impact resistance.

v Conductors are insulated in EPR, protecting them from sunlight, moisture, and oil.

v The cable’s CPE exterior jacket is flame retardant and adds tensile strength to the cable.

v Constructed with flexible, coated, rope-lay-stranded, annealed copper wires that align with ASTM standard B172.
