Radix Wire TMMG Mudgun High Temperature Cable 450C/600V

A 27% nickel coated copper cable with flexible strands. This cable is made for use in high temperature locations. The nickel coating not only enhances the cable’s corrosion resistance but also improves conductivity and thermal performance. Nickel has excellent resistance to corrosion even in extreme low temperature or negative temperature such as those you find in the stratosphere, that is, -60 degrees Celsius. The durability and stability of nickel at extremes of temperatures are some of the reasons why it is used to plate high temperature wires. It also resists effects of environmental elements like reducing chemicals, alkalis, and salty sprays.

Applications
•  For use in applications of 450 degrees Celsius and operations needing up to 600 volts.
• The cable is used to wiring circuits around blast furnaces and in applications where there is subject to sparks. It is also used in locations where exposed to splashing metal and repeated cooling and heating.

Insulation
•  Fused PTFE fluoropolymer insulation tape under a Mica tape with Fiberglass braid cover
• The insulation of the wire is made of fused PTFE fluoropolymer tape under a mica tape consisting of a fiberglass braided cover applied over every insulated conductor. PTFE tapes have low dissipation and excellent resistance to flame, moisture, chemicals, and solvents. They also resist abrasion and provide good performance and uniformity. Mica tapes have high resistance to extreme high temperatures they withstand severe electrical and thermal overload. The mica tapes also add mechanical strength to the cable because of their scrim backing on the composite material. An overall binder tape is also used to protect the insulation and it is made of the same material – fused PTFE fluoropolymer tape wrap under a mica tape.

Outer jacketing
• Glass braid jacket
• A glass braid jacket impregnated using a heat and moisture resistant finish is used to further protect the insulation. Stainless steel armor is also used in the jacketing component.

Characteristics
• Moisture, oil, fluid and abrasion resistant.
• Fillers, where needed, are made with flame impervious fibers with moisture repellent finish.
• Cable utilizes Radix “Torque Free” design. This eliminates memory found in traditional right hand or left hand twisted cables.
• Stainless steel jacket provides mechanical strength in severe duty applications.
• Not recommended for outdoor use.
