This stranded nickel-coated copper wire is designed to work in high temperature, high voltage applications. Nickel plated wires are unrivalled materials when it comes to applications of high temperature and corrosion susceptibility. The wires can resist thermal shocks, and perform excellently in continuous high temperature applications. At very high temperatures, the nickel coated copper wires can also perform well but in short periods of applications. The nickel coating increases thermal performance of the wire. It also reduces corrosion effects. It allows the cable to be used in high temperature applications of up to about 750 degrees Celsius. Where tin and silver coated copper wires may be susceptible to corrosion due to increased temperatures, nickel tends to work well.

    Applications
    • For use in operations of up to 250 degrees and applications needing up to 25KVDC power
    • Used in aviation, iron, aluminum, steel, glass, iron, pyrometallurgical and petrochemical plants.
    • Ideal for use in gas spark ignitors
    • This conductor cable is commonly used to provide wiring for heating and cooling equipment, gas water heaters, range top burners, furnaces, piezoelectric spark ignitors, as well as electronic high voltage ignitors.

    Insulation
    • Extruded silicone rubber
    • This wire is insulated with extruded silicone rubber material. Silicone rubber is resistant to radiation, water, alcohol, underground cabling, and oxidation.
    • The high temperatures in which these cables are used make them susceptible to effects of oxidation. However, with use of silicone rubber as an insulation material, it minimizes the effects of oxidation which could otherwise lead to corrosion of the cables. Silicone rubber has working temperatures of up to 250 degrees Celsius. This insulation has an outstanding resistance to heat, UV light, and ozone.

    Characteristics
    • Available with either 5/64” Standard or 7/64” corona resistant wall silicone rubber insulation
    • Silicone formulations suitable for UV, Ozone moisture exposure. Not suited for immersed applications
    • Suitable for applications down to -60ºC
