Radix Wire Tempergard 2000 High Temperature Lead Wire 450C(538C)/600V

Radix Wire Tempergard 2000 High Temperature Lead Wire 450C(538C)/600V

Product Details

This extreme high temperature lead wires is made using stranded nickel-plated copper wire. With a plating thickness of 27 percent by-product weight, it gives the cable temperature protection running up to 450 degrees Celsius for long term use and 538 degrees Celsius in areas where it is used for short periods of time. Nickel as a copper plating material is stable and durable at extremes of temperatures. It is also known for its excellent corrosion resistance meaning it prevents degrading of the cable due to corrosion effects.

Applications
• Wide range of applications ranging from military, aerospace, to industrial and heating products.
• This cable is used to wire equipment for use in commercial food processing and service, ceramic and glass kilns, band heaters, cartridge heaters, and heat treating furnaces. It is also used in wiring boilers and steam generators. Cartridge heaters are used to heat metal parts by inserting into drilled holes, and they therefore encounter high temperatures.

Insulation
• Reinforced mica glass tape
• Fiberglass braid with high temperature finish
• Fire barrier tape wraps
• PTFE moisture and fluid barrier
• Because this cable is designed for use in extreme temperatures, it is insulated with heat, flame, and radiation resistant material. The insulation is made of reinforced mica glass tape, PTFE, fire barrier tape, and fiberglass braid. The insulation is moisture resistant and provides a barrier to fluid absorption. It is also resistant to high temperature. The insulator is also resistant to abrasion meaning that the cable can withstand mechanical forces and is not susceptible to mechanical abuse. Mica tape is used to insulate copper wire in situations where thermal performance and high temperature resistance are needed.

Jacket- outer covering
• Braided fiberglass with a high temperature finish
• A braided fiberglass treated with high temperature finish is used as an outer covering for the cable. This jacketing material made of braided fiberglass is resistant to chemical attack, moisture infiltration, and heat.

Characteristics
• Moisture, oil, fluid, and abrasion resistant
• Composed of flame-impervious inorganic materials
• Withstands mechanical abuse
• Not recommended for outdoor use
