HF26 Indoor/Outdoor Loose Tube Single Jacket Plenum Cable Type OFNP, CSA FT-6

Product Description:

The dry loose tube design of the HF26 cable makes it great for route flexibility when installing and also makes for easy termination.  This cable is UL Listed Type Optical Fiber Nonconductive Plenum (OFNP) and comes with the option of 2-144 internal fibers depending on desired rigidity and strength.  The fibers are color coded per TIA/EIA for identification.  A black UV, moisture-resistant and flame retardant jacket serves as the first line of defense against corrosion to the interior components.   The overall strength member of this cable is an aramid yarn that is coiled around the fibers.  The central strength member is a an epoxy/glass rod.  This cable has a Maximum Crush Resistance of 150 lbs/in (236 N/cm).

Applications:

This cable is designed for vertical or horizontal runs between rooms or from building to building.  Installation should be in compliance with NEC article 770-51(b) and 770-53(b).  The nonconductive cable serves as a backbone for voice and data communication lines.  Per ICEA standard S-104-696, the cable is approved for use in outdoor plants.  This cable shows exceptional resistance to corrosive chemicals and is preferred in harsh climates or environments.  The cable is capable of functioning in temperatures between -20°C to 70°C.

Specifications:

  • This cable meets or exceeds standards set forth by UL and c(UL) certifying this cable as Type OFNP.
  • The HF26 cable passes the FT-6 flame test.  This test is for horizontal plenum cables, testing their ability to retard flames up to 300,000 BTU.
  • This cable meets or exceeds standard S-104-696 set forth by Insulated Cables Engineers Association, deeming it acceptable for use in outdoor plants.

 Construction:

-                Fibers

  • The cable comes with the option of 2-144 fibers depending on desired strength and rigidity.  Fibers are color coded per TIA/EIA 598B for identification.

-                Jacket

  • The assembly is jacketed in a black UV, moisture-resistant and flame retardant material.  The outer jacket is marked with sequential footage marking for reference.
