Description:
The Claflin 6-6 is a duplex cable meaning that it has two conductors. The cable is denoted as 6-6 as both the phase and neutral conductors have a gauge size of 6 AWG. The insulation enables the cable to be used in areas of up to 90°C. The duplex cable is used for underground usage and may as well be used for direct burial or in ducts. When directly buried, it transmits up to 95 amps and when used in ducts it transmits 70 amps.

Applications:
#6 Claflin Duplex wire is designed for secondary underground power transmissions, It can easily reduce the high levels of current in a transformer to up to 600 volts which is safe for use in residential homes. It can be used in temperatures of up to 75°C for the standard polyethylene insulation but for extreme environments the cross-linked polyethylene is used since it can withstand high temperatures of 90°C. It can be used as direct burial cable thanks to the tough materials used in its construction.
