Description:
4/0 AWG Beloit aluminum URD cable has one Aluminum conductor. This single conductor cable can withstand temperatures as high as 90°C. Its allowable ampacity as a direct burial cable is 290 amps but when in ducts it is 225 amps. This is a heavy duty cable transmitting electric currents of up to 600 volts. The cable is used for secondary underground electric power distribution.

Applications:
This secondary distribution wire is commonly used in residential settings. It is specifically meant for underground power transmissions this is resistant to rocky obstacles commonly found in these areas. Furthermore it can be used as a direct burial wire which involves direct insertion in to the soil with the use of a conduit or duct for protection. However its performance can be affected in these applications if the maximum temperature rating exceeds 90°C in both wet and dry locations.

Conductors:
The conductors are made of aluminum which are compressed at 1350-H19.

Insulation:
Aluminum URD cable has a cross-linked polyethylene insulation (XLPE) which can withstand high temperatures of up to 90°C.
